I was thinking a little while ago about how goofy the unicycles are and how annoying it is when they pollute your early generations by being the first slightly successful build then never going away, but then I realised that unicycles are potentially a squandered resource of hilarity and surprising effectiveness, so I've decided to let PSO design me some good ones. I'm quite convinced that there has to be a stable and elegant solution to most tracks, one must only play the waiting game.

I also think that due to their immense torque (600+ isn't that uncommon), they may stand a chance of eventually setting some seriously high times on Speedway - after all, they only have to balance for ~15s on a straight line while they accelerate, and there has to be a way to make them do that eventually.

Upon reading your post earlier, you got me interested in unicycles as well, and after a couple hours of PSO, I've managed to complete the speedway with a unicycle. It just barely makes it under the 30 second time limit, but here it is:

Nice! It's not graceful, but it's a promising start and it shows that a unicycle can balance independently for fairly extended periods of time, which is all that's necessary in the end for speedway.

I got up to a 433 on The Hills and copied it into clipboard before closing the window, but then before I posted it I got distracted and started to attack Sisyphus - lost the code after copying tons of cars into Designer. Sucks!

This one also works well on speedway. I'm still breeding further with it, and I believe a time under 20.00 is most certainly possible with an unicycle.

I started with a ridiculous handmade 'X'-shaped car, trying to make it balanced. It morphed into that over ~300 genreations
