My best comes in at 1:18. It started as a rectangle with a large wheel at each corner and evolved into a skate with one wheel at the front and a bunch of different sized ones at the back. It seemed to lose speed sometimes when the front wheel came up, so I added two additional wheels to the front in the same spot as the existing one. That plus a few dozen generations of evolution brought it down to 1:18.

I tried removing some of the bits that break off anyway in the hope to pick up some of the time it's losing when they snap off, but that made it slower or prevented it from finishing at all.
