I think it would be interesting to look at how the algorithm develops "balls," essentially. Obviously it would be pretty useless on some scenarios (Sisyphus, for example). But on others it would be fun to see what sort of shapes develop that will roll farthest, or somehow creates some sort of almost-perpetual motion device.
I can't find a link to it, but I read about a competition to create a 3D object made out of homogeneous material, that would roll around in a certain way until it righted itself - all without outside forces acting upon it, of course. I bet that the algorithm would generate something similar on a 2D scale, and it would be cool to watch that develop.
